Beatport have brought their new LINK DJ streaming system to Pioneer DJ's rekordbox dj software. The streaming capabilities allow users to stream Beatport's entire catalogue of over six million tracks directly into DJ software. Having already announced the service for other software, rekordbox dj is the first program to allow users to store up to 100 tracks offline in a 'locker', to remove the risk of potential internet connectivity issues.
Rekordbox and Beatport Link streaming service. Now this is where Rekordbox DJ wins it. With Beatport Link they provide a streaming service that is actually suitable for Pro DJs. You have the ability to download up to 100 tracks for “offline locker storage” But it does come at a price. Access tracks from the Beatport LINK and SoundCloud Go+ streaming services (separate subscriptions required) in Performance mode. All your files will be analyzed by rekordbox, enabling you to view waveforms, set Hot Cues, and tag tracks. Beatport LINK, which is based on the same technology as Beatsource LINK, is also available in DJUCED 5. Beatsource LINK can also be used with Pioneer DJ’s rekordbox 6.0.1, Algoriddim’s djay and djay Pro, and VirtualDJ. More integrations are scheduled for this year. A free trial of LINK is available on Beatsource’s website.
To take advantage of the full 100 tracks, users will have to subscribe to Beatport's flagship Beaport LINK PRO+ sub model, at the cost of $59.99 a month. This includes a 'higher than 320kbps' bitrate streaming quality, which we're told is 256kbps AAC – the same format used by Apple for their iTunes downloads.

With our offline locker technology, laptop DJs can now store tracks offline to play without worrying about Wi-Fi. This game-changing technology will give DJs a huge selection of new tracks they can confidently take to gigs to combine with their download collections.”
Beatport Link is a music streaming subscription service for DJs that lets you access the Beatport catalogue inside your DJ software (currently WeDJ and Rekor. If you are using the popular DJ software Rekordbox, it currently supports the Beatport link and SoundCloud Go. But wait, can you use Spotify with Rekordbox? Cause it would be great if we can have access to Spotify's massive catalog with over 60 million songs.
Beatport LINK is available as a free trial for 30 days here and is currently Mac only. it's already available for iOS through Pioneer DJ's WeGo DJ app.
